DogsDoes Your Parrot Copy Sounds at the Worst Time?
Meet Tiki, a clever little yellow-naped Amazon who lived with a big family. She picked up all kinds of words, some cute, some not-so-much. One day, a plumber came to fix the kitchen sink. The house was quiet. Suddenly, Tiki shouted from her cage, in perfect imitation of Dad’s voice: “I told you to fix that weeks ago!” The plumber froze. Tiki followed it with a giggle and, “Oops, sorry!” Everyone burst out laughing, but the plumber looked deeply confused. It turns out, parrots don’t just mimic, they remember tone, timing, and drama.
