Why I Don’t Mind Waking Up at 6am Anymore

I used to groan every morning when my dog nudged me awake at 6am. Cold floor, tired eyes, and a leash in hand before my first coffee.

But one morning, I noticed the sunrise. My dog, tail wagging, looked at me like I was the best part of his world.

That changed everything.

Now, those early walks feel like sacred time. Quiet streets. Deep breaths. No screens. Just me and my dog, moving in sync.

I realised this wasn’t a chore—it was a gift.

Sometimes, the things we resist the most become the parts of our day we’ll miss the most when they’re gone.

This is such a beautiful shift in perspective. Those quiet early moments with our dogs can become something really special when we stop seeing them as a hassle. It’s amazing how they help us slow down and appreciate the little things.
