8 signs your dog might be in pain
Changes in appetite. A sudden lack of interest in food or water could be a warning sign.
Limping or stiffness. If your dog avoids putting weight on a leg or seems stiff after resting, pain might be the reason.
Excessive licking. Dogs often lick painful spots. Watch for licking one area more than usual.
Hiding or avoiding contact. A normally social dog that suddenly hides or avoids touch may be hurting.
Unusual aggression or snapping. Even friendly dogs may growl or bite if something hurts.
Panting or shaking when it’s not hot. Heavy breathing or trembling can be pain-related, especially if there’s no clear cause.
Whining or yelping Vocal dogs might cry more. Quiet dogs may make sudden yelps when touched.
Posture changes. A hunched back, tucked tail, or hanging head could signal discomfort.
