I'm Considering Returning My Cat to the Shelter

I adopted him last month, thinking I could handle his special needs the medications, the special food, the vet checkups. But life hit me hard. I suddenly ran into financial problems, and now I’m drowning emotionally, mentally, and financially.

He needs care and consistency, and I can barely manage my own stress right now.

I know returning him is probably the best thing for both of us, but the shame and guilt are crushing. I feel like a failure and a terrible person for even thinking about it.

My advice? Call the shelter first before making any rash decision. Sometimes they can connect you to assistance programs

If you love him but just can’t afford care, maybe fostering him out temporarily could help.
