Owning Lennon Changed My Life

I never understood what people meant when they said a horse could be your best friend until I met Lennon. I had always loved horses, but I never imagined how much one could truly change my life. He came at the right time when I was going through a lot of stress at work, struggling with anxiety, and feeling stuck in the same daily routine. But as soon as I step into the stable each day, I feel this sense of peace and calm.
I learnt patience. If I was in a rush, she’d refuse to cooperate. If I was frustrated, she’d sense it and turn away. I had to learn to breathe and take things slow (I’m usually very hyperactive).
She taught me to be more trusting because horses mirror your emotions and respond accordingly. The day I realized she wouldn’t bolt when I hesitated but would move forward confidently when I believed in myself, I knew we had built something special.
Most of all, she gave me purpose. On days when I didn’t feel like getting out of bed, I did it anyway, because she was waiting. When life felt overwhelming, I found peace just standing in front of her, feeding her carrots, feeling the warmth of her presence.
Owning a horse isn’t just about riding. It’s about friendship, growth, and a bond that words can’t fully describe. Lennon didn’t just change my life; she saved it!
