My Not-so-smooth Sail

When I booked my first cruise, my boyfriend Todd and I had imagined golden sunsets, fancy dinners in the exquisite dining rooms onboard (I had only seen them in pictures prior to that), and endless ocean views. Never in my wildest imagination did I think that I would have to be wheeling Todd around.

But that is exactly what happened, on day 3 somewhere between Italy and Greece, he slipped on the pool deck stairs and hurt his ankle. Thanks to our insurance policy, the medical team did an excellent job, performed X-rays and all of that, put his foot in a caste and gave him crutches.

On the flip side, because of the accident, the cabin crew were extremely nice, giving us front row seats at shows and helping us through excursions. We also had a fancy-looking wheelchair for him and I had the honor of wheeling him around. Safe to say that after about 400 pictures later, it was an unforgettable experience.
