Should i be worried i smoke weed around my cat?

I’m a first-time pet parent and recently adopted a one-year-old cat. She’s sweet, curious and follows me around everywhere, especially when I’m chilling and smoking. Lately, I’ve been wondering if it’s safe for her to be around while I light up.

I don’t blow smoke in her face or anything like that, but she tends to come close when I’m relaxed, and I don’t know if just being in the same room is harmful to her. It’s my first time navigating life with a pet, so I want to be sure I’m not unintentionally doing something that could hurt her.

If you’ve got any advice or experience with this, I’d love to hear it. Do you keep your pets in a separate room when you smoke? Is ventilation enough? Am I overthinking this? Any insight would be really appreciated. Just trying to be the best cat parent I can.

separate room if possible. Cats are small and the particles in the air settle on their fur. They lick everything. Even if she’s not acting weird now, long-term exposure isn’t worth it.
