I didn’t know my dog had allergies until this happened
It started with little things I didn’t think much about. Bella scratched more than usual, licked her paws constantly, and sometimes shook her head like something was bothering her.
I thought maybe it was just the weather or a passing irritation.
Then one night, things got worse.
She woke me up wheezing, struggling to breathe, her eyes red and swollen. I panicked. I rushed her to the emergency vet, and that’s when I heard the words that broke me:
“She’s having a severe allergic reaction.”
I felt guilty. I didn’t know the signs. I kept wondering if I had missed something earlier, if I had acted sooner, maybe she wouldn’t have suffered that much.
The vet explained that allergies in dogs can be triggered by food, the environment, or even simple things like grass or dust.
Bella is okay now, but managing her allergies has become part of our daily life, special food, regular checkups, and always watching for signs. It’s tough, but I’d rather go through all of that than ever see her in that much pain again.
