What’s your bird’s favorite treat and how do they ask for it?

My parrot is absolutely obsessed with dried mango. I only have to open the bag and suddenly she’s right there, head tilted, eyes wide, doing her best “I’m a good girl” face.

She doesn’t squawk or scream for it anymore (thankfully). Now she’s trained me with a sweet little whistle and a dramatic head bob that clearly means: “Hand over the mango, human.”

Sometimes, she’ll even say “Mmm!” before the treat even touches her beak, like she’s anticipating the taste.

It still amazes me how clever these birds are when it comes to getting what they want. Whether it’s a dance, a look, or a sneaky trick, they know how to work us.
