DogsWhat’s the best advice you’ve ever received about raising a dog?
When Max was a puppy, I thought I had all the time in the world with him. I was busy with work, so I kept putting off long walks, training, and playtime, telling myself, “We’ll do it tomorrow.”
One day, my neighbor, an older dog owner, told me, “Dogs don’t wait for someday. They live for today. Don’t waste their best years.”
I didn’t fully understand until Max got sick years later. Suddenly, our “tomorrows” ran out faster than I expected. Now I hold onto that advice, make time, even if it’s just five minutes.
If I could go back, I’d take more walks, throw more balls, and let him sniff every tree.
What’s the advice that changed the way you care for your dog?
