How do you stop your dog from pulling on walks?
Okay, dog parents... I need help.
Walking my dog has become a full-body workout, and not in a good way. The moment we step outside, it’s like he’s auditioning for a sled team. He pulls so hard my arm actually aches by the end.
I’ve tried stopping every time he pulls. I’ve tried changing direction. I’ve even used a no-pull harness, which helped a little but only for about a week.
The frustrating part is, he loves walks. I want him to enjoy them, but I also want to enjoy them too, without getting dragged like a kite in the wind.
I know loose leash walking takes patience, but I’m wondering what actually worked for others.
Did you follow a training method? Use certain tools? Or is it just something that gets better with age and consistency?
I’d love to hear real-life tips from this community. Because I miss peaceful walks, and I think my shoulder does too.
