How to Bond with an Aggressive Rabbit
I adopted a rabbit named Frankie from a rescue shelter, he was a lot more work than I anticipated. He was very aggressive at first but as we spent more time together, I slowly earned his trust. So if you are struggling with bunny aggression, here are a few tips to help calm your rabbit.
Spaying and neutering your rabbit reduces hormonal and aggressive behavior
Rabbits are territorial so respect their space
Don’t keep your bunny caged up, allow him to roam free for a few hours everyday
Check your bunny’s health to make sure he’s not in pain or going through any health challenge, if you notice any discomfort, visit the vet.
Let your rabbit come to you, allow them to sniff and approach you on their terms.
Speak softly to them, rabbits respond well to calm soothing voices.
Do not grab them forcefully, try petting their head before attempting to carry them.
Finally, be patient and understanding, bonding takes time.
