She came into my life as a gift—from my ex, of all people. At the time, our relationship was already crumbling, and maybe she was meant to be a peace offering. But when we parted ways, there was no question: she was staying with me.
She was just a tiny ball of fluff, full of mischief and curiosity. I named her Luna and she quickly became my shadow, always by my side, always watching.
Breakups are hard, but she made the loneliness easier. She taught me that sometimes, the best love comes in the most unexpected ways—on tiny, silent paws, ready to stay forever.

Sign in to commentThis hit hard. My ex got me a kitten right before things ended too. I think back then I thought he was trying to build a family, but in hindsight, the cat became the best part of that entire phase. She’s 5 now and still my greatest comfort.
Same here, i kept the cat. No regrets.
